Board of Directors                              Purpose of Society

The Denman Seniors & Museum Society (DSMS) is a registered charity and a registered non-profit Society in B.C. Part of its mandate is the operation and maintenance of the Denman Activity Centre, a multi-purpose facility located in the heart of downtown Denman Island.

The Denman Island Museum is located in part of the Activity Centre, and is operated by volunteers. It is open to the public during July and August.

Recreational Use

The Fitness Centre reopened on July 5, 2021. Contact Sue Stewart at 250-335-2441 or by email: 3352441@telus.net.

Gymnasium – Available for rent by private instructors for self-managed fitness and sport classes. Also used by Society members for drop in athletic activities, such as Badminton, Pickle Ball and Table Tennis.

Community Events

The Centre is the venue for a number of community events throughout the year. Some of these are sponsored by the DSMS, such as the Remembrance Day service. The Hall is also commonly used for elections, flu clinics and public meetings.

The lounge is available for smaller meetings and other private functions.

Social Events

Both the gymnasium and lounge are used for a myriad of social events, from private parties to community dinners, organized fundraisers and sports events.

The Society relies on memberships, volunteer effort and fundraising activities for support.
